ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

I was born in South Vietnam and came to the United States as a refugee in April 1975, eventually settling in a small town in Tennessee. My love of travel began the following summer, when my brother and a friend took me on a road trip through several Midwestern states. For the first time, I discovered the vastness of my new country—the landscapes, the people, and the different ways of life. That journey sparked a curiosity about the world that has stayed with me ever since.

Years later, I owned a small printing business, where I learned offset color printing and film development. Working with color, images, and the printing process deepened my interest in photography and taught me to appreciate the photograph not only as an image, but also as a finished print.

Travel eventually brought these interests together. As I explored more of the United States and other parts of the world, photography became my way of observing and preserving the landscapes, light, cultures, and everyday human moments I encountered.

In 2025, I stepped away from my professional career to devote more time to family, travel, and photography. Today, I am especially drawn to landscape, travel, and humanist photography—sharing through my images the moments and places that continue to inspire me.
